A new signaling pathway that contributes to the development of inflammatory bone erosion, which occurs in rheumatoid arthritis patients, has been identified by researchers. Focusing on a certain variant in a gene called RBP-J, the scientists found that the expression level of this gene in RA patients is significantly lower than that in healthy controls.
